My Work In Progress

I was asked to answer several questions about my WIP by a fellow writer. This is for you to get to know a bit about it and to gather interest for when I post my first three chapters online later on in the new year.

If you would like to post these questions on your blog please feel free to. Just leave a link of your blog on this page so that people know where to find it when I mention you :).

1. What is the working title of your book?

A. The working title of my book is called Lady Of The Kryptonites. My very first draft was known as Raindrops and Rainbows (very hippyish :S) and my second as Underneath The Ocean,

2. Where did the idea come form for your book?

A. There were a few premises for my idea. One of them was from playing The Legend Of Zelda games. I loved the medievil theme which has stayed with me all the way through to my third draft, then I was hooked on Twilight through the first and second draft but it has diminished now that I detest it. And music. Music gives me ideas all of the time.

3. What genre does your book fall under?

A. My book generally falls under Fantasy mainly. Although other genres do tend to fall in as well. You might find horror, romance, and thriller interlinked too.

4. Which actors would you choose to play in your movie rendition?

A. Auditions would be open to all new and upcoming talent. My three main characters will be picked from these along with extras and additional characters. I have not got a set list in my head yet but I have a few of which famous actors  are a definite maybe. These are;

Esmeralda Faraway – Fire Element – Emma Watson

Coriander Faye – Water Element – Anne Hathaway

Pirowetta Autumn – Earth Element – Julie Andrews

Jasmine Thomas – Air Element – Dakota Fanning

Eric – Rekcoreht Courier – Jim Carrey

Just to name a few 🙂

5. What is the one sentence synopsis of your book?

A. ‘Bad apples get bitten and thrown away. Good, sweet apples get bitten but prosper.’

6. Will your book be self published or represented by an agency?

A. I am at a crossroads with this question as there are pros and cons with both. I keep on choosing one then the other. I will get back to you on that one.

7. How long did it take you to write your first draft of your manuscript?

A. It took me a year and a half to write my very first draft with having so many commitments there wasn’t time to do as much writing as I would have liked. My second draft took eight months but my third is proving to be the longest as it is completely different from the other two.

8. What other books would you compare this to?

A. That’s a tricky one. My previous drafts have had parts similar to Harry Potter but it has changed an awful lot that I am at a loss to compare it to anything as it’s unlike anything I’ve ever read before.

9. Who or what inspired you to write the book?

A. One of my biggest influences is music, that has a lot to do with my vision as a writer.

J. K Rowling inspired me to try my hand at writing itself.

10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

A. The three main characters each have a supernatural power. Rosie’s pschometric, Leah’s a time traveller and Sylvie can Astral Project places. They are all involved in a big secret which could change their lives forever. And the plot includes a modern twist on Greek Mythology too.

Hope you enjoyed reading 🙂

NaNoWriMo ended four days ago now and I can say that I didn’t finish. Yippee!

Why am I cheering at that? You ask. Shouldn’t I be hiding under the bedclothes and not emerging until next year? Not likely! Although the idea is very appealing it is just too much time to waste on not being creative. And boy, do I hate that?!!!

32,700 words might not seem like much to these NONE NaNo’er’s but for me that is pretty good going so I am going to give myself some credit and just give myself a small pat on the back for actually following through.

If you managed to get to 50,000 words or more than I take my hat off to you! Brilliant stuff! I wish you every success with your WIP’s and I’m sure that with your sheer brilliance you’ll meet every deadline you encounter.

For now though I am just going to enjoy picking up where I left off and try to keep warm. Brrrr!

Best wishes 🙂
